The novels in Kathy's Spirit of the River series: First There is a River, Jasper Mountain, and Theater of Illusion are published by Medallion Press. Also a short-story author, her first published story appeared in Quality Women’s Fiction.
Her stories are influenced by a family history of hardworking people, struggling to build lives with their hands and hearts, but never giving up their dreams.
Kathy speaks at writing programs across the country and has taught writing at AllWriters' Workshops, the University of Wisconsin’s Writer’s Institute, Write by the Lake, Rhinelander School of the Arts, and online at the How to Write Shop. She has published articles on writing in both online and print magazines, and she pens a monthly column, Between the Lines, for Southwest Wisconsin's Voice of the River Valley.
Kathy is a member of Novelists Inc., Mystery Writers of America, and Romance Writer's of America. She writes from a log home in the woods of Wisconsin that she shares with her husband and three cats.
